SPEAK Indonesia Enhances Communication Capacity to Protect Mangrove Forests in East Kalimantan
The organization SPEAK Indonesia is currently implementing a communication capacity-building program for community facilitators in the coastal regions of East Kalimantan. This step is being taken as a strategic effort to support the protection and sustainable management of mangrove ecosystems in the area.
Community facilitators play a crucial role in maintaining the preservation of the coastal environment. Through this training, they are equipped with more effective communication skills so that they can convey conservation messages to local residents in a way that is easily understood and accepted.
In addition to providing education, this program also aims to build public awareness regarding the benefits of mangrove forests. Mangrove forests not only function as protection for the coast against abrasion, but also serve as an important habitat for various types of marine life that support the local economy.
With better communication, it is hoped that collaboration between facilitators, the government, and coastal communities can proceed more harmoniously. This synergy is essential to ensure that the management of mangrove forests in East Kalimantan can be protected from the threat of environmental damage.
This program represents a concrete step in nature conservation efforts in Indonesia. Looking ahead, SPEAK Indonesia hopes that this initiative can serve as an example for other coastal regions in maintaining the sustainability of mangrove ecosystems for a better environmental future.
