Pepsodent Campaigns for the Importance of Oral Microbiome Balance for Dental Health
Pepsodent is once again demonstrating its commitment to improving the standards of dental and oral health in Indonesia through the 2026 National Dental Health Month (BKGN) program. This year, the main focus of the campaign is to introduce a new paradigm regarding the importance of maintaining the balance of the microbiome in the mouth.
The oral microbiome consists of a collection of good and bad bacteria that live naturally in the human oral cavity. Dental health experts explain that maintaining the balance of this ecosystem is crucial. If this balance is disrupted, bad bacteria can multiply more rapidly and lead to various health problems, such as cavities and gum disease.
Through the BKGN 2026 initiative, Pepsodent aims to educate the public that brushing teeth alone is not enough. The public is encouraged to better understand how to maintain oral health holistically with products that support microbiome balance. This is expected to help the people of Indonesia prevent dental problems from an early age.
In addition to online education, the program also provides access to free dental check-up services at various dental teaching hospitals throughout Indonesia. This step was taken to ensure that the public receives access to professional care and direct consultations with dentists regarding their oral health.
This program is expected to change the public's habits in maintaining daily dental health. With a better understanding of the oral microbiome, it is hoped that the overall level of dental and oral health of the Indonesian population will improve in the future.
