Dingle rescue crew honoured after saving 14 fishermen
A heroic rescue mission in County Kerry has been officially recognised after 14 fishermen were saved from a dangerous situation. The incident occurred when a French fishing vessel, named the Fastnet, suffered a major engine failure while leaving Dingle Harbour.
Following the engine failure, the vessel became stranded on rocks near the coast. The situation was critical, as the boat was unable to move and was at the mercy of the sea. Local emergency teams were quickly alerted to the emergency to prevent a potential tragedy.
Thanks to the swift actions of the local rescue crew, all 14 people on board the Fastnet were brought to safety. The operation required careful coordination and bravery to navigate the rocky conditions near the harbour entrance.
Following the successful rescue, the crew involved has been honoured for their professionalism and courage. This event highlights the vital role that local emergency services play in keeping the waters around the Irish coast safe for everyone.
