Data Centre Jobs Now Account for 5% of Irish Listings
A new report from the hiring platform Indeed has revealed that nearly 5% of all job advertisements in Ireland now mention data centres. This figure highlights the growing importance of the digital infrastructure sector within the Irish economy.
Data centres are facilities that store and process large amounts of information for internet services. As technology companies continue to expand their operations in Ireland, the demand for workers to build, maintain, and secure these sites has risen significantly.
Industry experts suggest that this trend reflects Ireland’s position as a major European hub for global technology firms. The roles associated with these facilities range from construction and engineering to specialized IT and security positions.
While the growth of these centres has been a topic of debate regarding energy usage, the data from Indeed shows that they are becoming a substantial source of employment. It remains to be seen how this demand for talent will evolve as the country balances its digital growth with national energy goals.
