Ireland’s Insurtech Sector Continues Rapid Growth
The Irish technology sector has reached a new milestone as the number of companies working in 'insurtech'—technology used to improve the insurance industry—has grown to over 120. This expansion highlights Ireland's increasing importance as a hub for financial technology in Europe.
InsTech.ie, the organization that tracks this industry, confirmed that the sector now includes a wide variety of businesses. These companies are working to modernize how insurance is bought, sold, and managed, making the process faster and more efficient for customers.
To support this growth, the industry is focusing on collaboration. Currently, 23 major insurance industry members are working together through InsTech.ie to share knowledge and develop new digital solutions. This partnership is designed to help smaller startups grow while encouraging innovation among established insurance providers.
As part of these efforts, the industry has launched the second cohort of 'The Foundry,' a program dedicated to mentoring and supporting new businesses. By providing resources and professional guidance, this initiative aims to keep Ireland at the forefront of global insurance technology developments.
This growth is a positive sign for the Irish economy, as it creates high-skilled jobs and attracts international investment. As more companies join the sector, experts expect that Irish consumers will benefit from more competitive and user-friendly insurance services in the near future.
