Investigation launched after assault on Gardaí in Dublin city centre
A man has been arrested following a serious incident in Dublin city centre where two members of An Garda Síochána were assaulted. The event occurred when the officers were on duty and were approached by an individual who allegedly attacked them.
During the confrontation, the suspect reportedly stole official equipment from the officers, including a baton and a Garda radio. The situation became so difficult that the officers were forced to flag down a passing taxi to request emergency assistance from their colleagues.
The suspect, who has been identified by local media as a former boxer, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Gardaí are currently questioning the man at a local station regarding the assault and the theft of police property.
