Ed Sheeran’s Foundation Launches New Music Project for Irish Youth
A new initiative supported by the Ed Sheeran Foundation is set to bring young musicians from across the island of Ireland together. The project, known as North South Sounds 2026, aims to foster collaboration and creativity among the next generation of musical talent.
Fifty young musicians have been selected to participate in this unique programme. These participants will travel from both Belfast and Cork to work together, sharing their skills and experiences in a collaborative musical environment.
The Ed Sheeran Foundation is providing the initial funding for this project. By supporting this cross-border initiative, the foundation hopes to create lasting connections between young people in the North and the South through their shared passion for music.
Organisers have expressed their excitement about the project, describing the expansion of the foundation's work to Ireland as an amazing development. They believe that bringing these talented individuals together will help them grow both personally and professionally.
This initiative highlights the power of music to unite communities. As the participants prepare for the 2026 programme, many hope that this will be the first of many projects that encourage young people from all parts of Ireland to create art together.
