Gardaí seize €8.5m in drugs during major operation
Gardaí have carried out a significant operation targeting organized crime, resulting in the seizure of €8.5 million worth of illegal drugs. The raid focused on a major distribution hub believed to be linked to large-scale criminal activity in Ireland.
During the operation, officers discovered large quantities of cannabis and cocaine. Authorities believe this site was a central location for the storage and distribution of illegal substances across the country.
Two men were arrested at the scene in connection with the discovery. One of the individuals is described by investigators as a “high-level” gang member with established links to the Kinahan Cartel, a major international criminal organization.
The arrests and the seizure of such a large amount of drugs represent a significant blow to criminal networks operating within Ireland. Gardaí have stated that investigations are ongoing as they continue to target the leadership and infrastructure of these gangs.
This operation highlights the continued efforts of Irish law enforcement to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs. Further updates are expected as the legal process against the two men continues.
