Record Number of Students Receive Leaving Cert Results Today
More than 70,000 students across Ireland are receiving their Leaving Certificate results today. This marks a significant moment for the education system, as a record-breaking 70,411 candidates are set to find out their grades.
This year’s figures show a notable increase in the number of students participating in the exams. Compared to 2024, there has been a 15% rise in the total number of candidates. This growth highlights the expanding size of the student population currently moving through the Irish secondary school system.
For many students, today is the culmination of years of hard work and preparation. These results are a vital step for those planning their next moves, whether they are heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, or entering the workforce.
Support services and guidance counselors remain available across the country to assist students as they process their results. Schools and families are encouraged to offer guidance to those who may be feeling anxious about their next steps.
As the day progresses, the focus will shift toward the upcoming CAO offers. Students will soon learn if they have secured a place in their chosen third-level courses, marking the beginning of a new chapter for thousands of young people in Ireland.
