Ministry of Health: Two Israelis hospitalized in isolation due to suspected Ebola virus infection
The Ministry of Health announced today (Sunday) that two people have been hospitalized in isolation at a hospital in Israel. The two recently returned from a visit to the country of Congo in Africa, and following the onset of symptoms, a suspicion arose that they had contracted the dangerous Ebola virus.
Upon their arrival in Israel, the two were transferred for comprehensive medical examinations under strict isolation protocols. The Ministry of Health emphasizes that this is a precautionary measure only, intended to ensure public safety and prevent any possibility of the spread of infectious diseases within the country.
Expert medical teams are treating the patients and conducting the necessary tests to determine whether it is indeed the Ebola virus or another illness. The Ministry is working in full cooperation with medical authorities at the hospitals to monitor the health status of the two.
As of now, the Ministry of Health has not issued special instructions to the general public, but it continues to monitor the situation closely. Medical authorities are asking the public to continue to stay updated through official announcements only, in order to avoid the dissemination of inaccurate information.
