MK David Bitan: "The Haredim are an inseparable part of our bloc"
A few days before the Likud party primaries, MK David Bitan addressed the political situation and the partnership with the Haredi parties. In his remarks, Bitan emphasized the importance of maintaining the existing political bloc to ensure the party's continued governance.
Bitan explained that, in his view, without the support of the Haredi parties, Likud would find it very difficult to form a government and maintain its power. He noted that the Haredim are natural partners of Likud, and therefore it is of supreme importance to preserve this alliance in the future as well.
Regarding the issue of Haredi conscription into the IDF, a subject at the heart of public debate in Israel, Bitan presented a moderate position. He argued that it is impossible to lead a dramatic change all at once, and emphasized that one must act cautiously so as not to harm the political partnership that is important to the bloc.
In addition, the MK addressed reports regarding the possibility of reserved spots on the Likud list by the Prime Minister. Bitan clarified that if he were to receive such an offer, he would refuse it, preferring to compete in the primaries against fellow party members.
Bitan's words come at a sensitive time for Likud, as the party prepares for an internal decision that will determine the composition of its list for the Knesset. The internal election process is generating significant interest among the Israeli public, as it is expected to influence the character of the next government.
