Wave of layoffs at gaming company SciPlay in Israel
The international gaming company SciPlay, which develops mobile and social casino games, has announced a reduction in its workforce in Israel. As part of the move, the company has laid off approximately 20 of its local employees.
The company's Israeli branch, which is owned by the technology giant Light & Wonder, is considered a significant operational hub for the organization. Currently, about 300 employees are employed at the company's offices in Israel, representing about a third of the company's total global workforce.
This decision comes at a time when many technology companies around the world and in Israel are making adjustments to their organizational structures. Market sources note that many gaming companies are re-evaluating the scope of their operations in light of changes in the global digital market.
As of now, the company has not released further details regarding additional future changes to the organizational structure. The laid-off employees will receive their rights according to the law, and the company is expected to continue its ongoing operations in Israel with the remaining staff.
