Defense Minister: Houthi leaders are fleeing Sanaa following IDF operations
The Minister of Defense recently announced that the leadership of the Houthi rebels in Yemen is in a state of flight from the capital, Sanaa. According to reports, the military pressure being applied to the organization is leading many senior officials to abandon their central strongholds in search of new hiding places.
The announcement comes following the elimination of Abdul Aziz Saleh bin Habtoor, who had served as the Houthi rebel prime minister since August 2024. Bin Habtoor is considered the most senior official eliminated thus far during the direct conflict between Israel and the Houthi organization, which operates from Yemen with Iranian support.
The elimination of bin Habtoor marks a significant escalation in the struggle against the rebels, who are disrupting freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and launching threats toward Israel. Security officials note that the targeted operations against the organization's leadership are undermining the Houthis' ability to control and manage the territories under their authority.
Recent developments indicate a shift in the balance of power in the region. As the conflict continues, Israel persists in acting with determination against any entity that threatens its security, while conveying a clear message to the Houthi leadership that there is no safe place for those who act against the state.
