New survey reveals: Israelis prefer home medical care over hospital admission
A new survey recently published examines the attitudes of the Israeli public regarding the healthcare system. The study focuses on what concerns patients most when they are required to be hospitalized in hospitals across the country, and presents interesting data on patients' treatment preferences.
Data shows that many patients experience significant discomfort during their stay in the hospital. Among the main factors cited as causes for concern are the overcrowding in the wards, the difficulty in receiving personal attention from the medical staff, and the desire to be in a more familiar and comfortable environment during recovery.
In addition, the survey examined how many of the respondents would prefer to receive medical treatment in their own homes instead of being hospitalized. The results show that a significant percentage of the public supports a transition to a home hospitalization model, when medically feasible. Respondents noted that home care provides them with a greater sense of security and peace of mind.
The healthcare system in Israel has been dealing with many challenges in recent years, including overcrowding in hospitals. The survey findings may encourage policymakers to re-examine the options for expanding community medical services, in order to ease the burden on medical institutions and improve the quality of life for patients.
