Court Rules: Oren Kobi Maintained an Extravagant Lifestyle Using Funds from His Companies
The District Court recently issued a sharp ruling regarding businessman Oren Kobi. According to the judges' findings, Kobi maintained an exceptionally extravagant lifestyle over the course of many years, using funds that belonged to the companies he owned.
The verdict noted that Kobi failed to transfer payments to the creditors' pool for a period of six and a half years. The judges emphasized that he treated the companies' funds "as his own," using them for personal and private needs instead of settling his numerous debts.
Among other things, the investigation revealed that Kobi purchased luxury real estate in sought-after areas of Tel Aviv while his creditors were waiting to receive their money. This conduct led to harsh criticism from the judicial system, which determined that it constituted bad-faith behavior.
The case is drawing significant attention due to the scale of the funds involved and the improper use made of them. Now, the involved parties are awaiting further legal proceedings, which are expected to focus on efforts to recover the funds for the creditors' pool for the benefit of the creditors.
