Incendiary kites located in the Gaza envelope: Tensions in the region continue
Over the past 24 hours, there has been a significant increase in hostile activity originating from the Gaza Strip toward the communities of the Gaza envelope. Security forces reported the discovery of incendiary kites in open areas in the region, the third time in less than 24 hours.
The kites, which carry flammable materials, are intended to cause fires in fields and agricultural areas in the envelope communities. Fire and rescue teams were dispatched to several locations to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading toward homes or vital infrastructure.
IDF and police forces are on high alert along the border. Security experts note that the use of these simple means, such as kites and incendiary balloons, poses a significant challenge for security forces, as it is difficult to identify them in advance and prevent their infiltration into Israeli territory.
Despite the security tensions, residents of the area are continuing their daily routines under the instructions of the Home Front Command. Local authorities are calling on residents to remain highly vigilant and to report any suspicious object found in the area immediately to the 100 emergency hotline.
As of now, no casualties have been reported, but some damage has been caused to agricultural lands. The security establishment continues to monitor the situation and evaluate the most appropriate ways to respond to these incidents in order to ensure the safety of the residents of the south.
