Hili Tropper: "We will not join a government that relies on the Arab parties"
Member of Knesset Hili Tropper of the "National Unity" party recently declared his clear political stance regarding the possibilities for forming a government in the future. In an interview he gave, Tropper clarified that his party would not be part of a government that relies on the support of the Arab parties, emphasizing the importance of the coalition's Zionist identity.
Tropper explained that he supports the establishment of a Zionist government only. According to him, the main goal is to create a broad coalition based on shared Zionist values. He noted that the Israeli public is currently looking for a "new political home" that can lead the country with security during this complex period, while maintaining the state's fundamental principles.
Tropper's statement comes against the backdrop of political discussions surrounding possible moves by Gadi Eisenkot. Tropper clarified that even if Eisenkot decides to lead a new political move, the party will not cooperate if the move requires the support of the Arab parties. He further emphasized that his party does not act as a representative of any other entity, but rather operates independently according to the interests of its voters.
The political system in Israel is in a period of change, and many elected officials are trying to redefine their conditions for cooperation. Tropper believes that the path to real change lies through connections between Zionist forces from the center, the right, and the moderate left. In his view, a stable government must rely on parties that fully identify with Zionist values.
In conclusion, Tropper's words mark the political line of "National Unity" ahead of the next elections. His statement clarifies the conditions for joining a future government and emphasizes the struggle for center-ground votes in Israel, focusing on the Jewish and Zionist identity of the next government.
