Improved Protection for Organizations: Are We Really Safer?
New data recently published by Picos Security presents an encouraging picture for information security managers in Israel and around the world. According to the report, the rate of cyberattack prevention in organizations has recently risen from 62% to 69%. This is a significant increase that indicates greater investment in technological defense measures.
However, security experts warn that these figures tell only part of the story. Although defenses at the perimeter of organizations have become stronger and better, attackers are still finding creative ways to bypass the systems. Once hackers manage to penetrate the first layer of defense, they often encounter an "open path" within the organization's internal network.
The core problem is that many organizations focus primarily on protecting the external gates, while neglecting monitoring within the network itself. When an attacker manages to get in, they can move freely between computers and servers without significant interference. This situation allows hostile actors to steal sensitive information or cause long-term damage without the system administrators' knowledge.
In conclusion, the increase in the attack prevention rate is a positive step, but it is not enough to ensure complete security. Experts recommend that organizations in Israel not settle for perimeter defenses alone, but also invest in improving security within internal networks to make it harder for attackers who have already managed to get inside.
