Houthi rebel attack on the Saudi capital
Reuters news agency reported that this past Saturday, Houthi rebels from Yemen carried out a combined attack against targets in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. According to the reports, the attack involved the use of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The attack caused damage at several different locations throughout the city. Official sources in the region noted that this marks a further escalation in the activity of the Houthi rebels, who are supported by Iran, against targets in Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East.
The incident is causing great concern in the international community due to the threat to regional security and to shipping and aviation routes. The Houthi rebels frequently use missiles and UAVs to attack strategic targets, which poses a significant security challenge for countries in the region.
As of now, Saudi security forces are working to assess the extent of the damage and to prevent further attack attempts in the future. The security situation in the region remains tense, and neighboring countries are closely monitoring developments in order to protect their citizens and national infrastructure.
