Calls in Gaza to stop launching incendiary kites
In recent days, calls have been heard within the Gaza Strip to stop the launching of incendiary kites toward Israeli territory. Local residents have begun to take action against the phenomenon, and were even documented destroying kites in an effort to prevent their continued use.
The initiative follows stern warnings from Israel, which has made it clear that it will not tolerate the heavy damage caused to fields and open areas by the kites. Israel has emphasized that it views the use of these devices as an act of terror in every respect.
On the other hand, the Hamas organization is disclaiming responsibility for the phenomenon. Sources within the organization claimed that these are local initiatives by young people, and accused Israel of using the issue as a pretext to carry out military strikes in the Gaza Strip.
The tension surrounding this issue continues, as security pressure from Israel increases on one side, while factions in Gaza attempt to calm the situation to prevent further escalation in the region.
