Suspected Ebola case in Israel: Passenger who returned from Congo hospitalized in isolation
The Israeli healthcare system is on alert after a passenger who recently returned from the Democratic Republic of the Congo arrived at the hospital with a suspected Ebola virus infection. This is the fourth such case to be examined in Israel in recent times.
The passenger was immediately transferred to a special isolation ward at Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer, where he is receiving medical treatment under strict supervision. Medical teams are operating according to the most stringent protocols to prevent any possibility of the virus being transmitted to other people.
The Ministry of Health stated that it is closely monitoring the patient's condition. Samples have been sent for urgent laboratory testing to determine whether it is indeed the deadly Ebola virus. The results of the tests are expected to be received in the coming hours.
The Ebola virus is considered a very dangerous disease, which is why the authorities in Israel are exercising extreme caution in any case where there is a suspicion of infection. The Ministry of Health emphasizes that the public does not need to panic, and that the system is prepared to deal with such events in a professional and safe manner.
