TikTok reveals: Iranian influence network operated against the Israeli public
TikTok has released a new and important report regarding foreign influence attempts on social media. According to the data revealed, an Iranian activity network attempted to spread false information among the Israeli public with the aim of creating division and influencing local public opinion.
As part of the operation, the social network removed 45,311 different videos posted by entities identified with Iran. These videos were disseminated with the goal of swaying public discourse in Israel and spreading messages intended to harm national resilience. This is one of the largest operations recently uncovered in the field of digital warfare.
Cyber experts note that these networks use sophisticated methods, including the use of fake accounts and bots to appear like real Israeli users. The goal of these entities is to increase social tension and create a sense of insecurity among users in Israel.
TikTok announced that it is working in cooperation with security agencies and experts to identify and block such activities immediately. The company emphasizes that it is committed to maintaining a safe platform for its users and preventing foreign manipulations intended to influence political and social processes in various countries.
This event highlights once again the importance of awareness on the part of social media users. Experts recommend that the public carefully check the source of information before sharing content, especially when it concerns sensitive or political topics, to avoid falling into the traps of foreign influence networks.
