Ministry of Health orders closure of hospital following severe deficiencies
The Ministry of Health announced a dramatic decision this week to close a private hospital after severe failures in patient care were discovered. The decision was made following a surprise inspection conducted by ministry representatives at the site, which revealed improper and dangerous conduct.
In the severe report published by the Ministry of Health, it was noted that the hospital made illegal use of narcotic drugs, including cocaine solution. The use of these substances was carried out in violation of accepted medical procedures, which placed patients at real risk to their health.
In addition to the use of drugs, the examination revealed serious deficiencies in the functioning of the medical staff. Among other things, it was discovered that nurses performed surgical procedures and operations, actions that by law are permitted to be performed by doctors only. These findings indicate a systemic failure in the management of the medical institution.
Following the severity of the findings, the Ministry of Health ordered the immediate closure of the hospital to protect public safety. The ministry emphasized that it views the violations found with great severity and that it will continue to act decisively to ensure that all medical institutions in Israel meet the required safety standards.
