Dramatic rescue in the north: Yeshiva student evacuated to hospital due to dehydration
A worrying incident occurred yesterday in the Galilee region, when rescue forces were called to rescue a yeshiva student who had gone for a hike between Meron and Safed. The young man lost consciousness due to the harsh weather conditions and the heavy heat that prevailed in the area, and required urgent assistance to continue on his way.
Medical teams and volunteers from the rescue unit arrived at the scene after receiving a report of a person suffering from severe dehydration. The rescuers provided the young man with initial medical treatment in the field, which included administering fluids and cooling the body, in order to stabilize his condition before the complex evacuation from the mountain trail.
After successfully moving the young man to a safe location, he was evacuated by ambulance for further examinations and treatment at Ziv Hospital in Safed. His condition was defined as moderate, and he remains under medical supervision to ensure his health improves.
Following the incident, rescue authorities are once again reminding the public of hikers of the importance of caution when going out into nature on hot days. They emphasize that one should carry a sufficient amount of water, wear a hat, and avoid hiking during peak heat hours in order to prevent similar dangers in the future.
