Court against Oren Kobi: Maintained a lavish lifestyle with company funds
The District Court recently issued a harsh ruling regarding businessman Oren Kobi. According to the judges' findings, Kobi maintained an exceptionally extravagant and wasteful lifestyle, all while failing to transfer payments to the creditors' pool for a period of six and a half years.
The ruling stated that Kobi treated the funds of the companies he owned "as his own." It is suspected that he used these funds to purchase luxury real estate in sought-after areas of Tel Aviv, instead of using them to settle his numerous debts to creditors.
The judges emphasized that Kobi's conduct directly harmed those waiting to receive their money back. This is a case that has caused quite a stir due to the vast gap between the ostentatious lifestyle he displayed and the dire financial state of the companies he managed.
The legal decision marks another step in the attempt to recover funds for the receivership account. Now, the authorities will continue to examine the assets Kobi purchased to determine whether they can be liquidated for the benefit of repaying the debts to the creditors harmed by his conduct.
