Suspected additional Ebola case in Israel: Person who returned from Congo hospitalized in isolation
The Ministry of Health issued an official statement this morning, according to which a report was received regarding another person in Israel suspected of having the Ebola virus. The concern arose after the individual recently returned from a visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the country where a significant outbreak of the disease is currently occurring.
According to reports, the person developed symptoms including a high fever after returning to the country. Following the onset of symptoms, they were transferred for comprehensive medical examinations at a hospital, where they were placed in isolation in accordance with the Ministry of Health's strict protocols for preventing the spread of the virus.
Medical officials noted that this is merely a precautionary measure and that the system is prepared to handle cases of this type. The Ministry of Health continues to closely monitor the patient's medical condition and is conducting an epidemiological investigation to determine who they have been in contact with since returning to Israel.
The public is requested to follow the official guidelines of the Ministry of Health. As of now, there is no change in the guidelines for the general public, but the Ministry emphasizes that anyone who has recently returned from countries where there is an outbreak of the virus and feels unwell is required to contact a medical center and report it in advance.
