Shelly Yachimovich shares: "I discovered I had cancer by chance"
Former Labor Party chair Shelly Yachimovich recently revealed that she is battling cancer. Yachimovich published a personal post in which she spoke about the complex period she has been going through and the way the disease was discovered in her body.
It all started when Yachimovich suffered from severe abdominal pain. Following the pain, she decided to go to the hospital emergency room. After a series of tests, which also included a CT scan, a cancerous tumor was discovered. Yachimovich described the discovery as a stroke of luck, as without those pains, the disease might not have been detected at an early stage.
In the update she published, Yachimovich reassured the public and shared that she had undergone a successful surgery in which the tumor was removed. She noted that tests conducted after the surgery revealed there were no metastases in her body, which is considered very encouraging news in the recovery process.
Yachimovich warmly thanked the many people who have sent her messages of support and encouragement since the news was published. She expressed great appreciation for the warmth and love she received from the Israeli public, and emphasized the importance of listening to one's body and seeking medical examinations when necessary.
