Ministry of Health presents national plan for training medical specialists by 2035
The Ministry of Health published today (Thursday) a new and important strategic plan for the healthcare system in Israel. As part of the plan, clear national targets have been set for the number of medical specialists required in the country over the next decade, with the goal of ensuring high-quality medical care for the entire population by the year 2035.
The new plan focuses on an in-depth examination of the medical system's needs. The Ministry is not only defining how many doctors are required in each field, but is also examining the distribution of specialists in hospitals and in the community. The goal is to reduce the gaps that currently exist between the central regions and the periphery, and to enable every citizen to receive professional and accessible medical care.
As part of the initiative, the Ministry of Health plans to monitor the training processes of young doctors and encourage specializations in fields where there is currently a significant shortage. Experts at the Ministry note that long-term planning is essential to cope with population growth and technological changes in the world of medicine.
This decision constitutes a significant step in improving medical service in Israel. The Ministry of Health is expected to continue updating the targets in accordance with changes in the field, with the understanding that investment in human capital is the key to a strong and stable healthcare system for all residents of the country.
