Suspected Ebola case in Israel: Person who returned from Congo hospitalized
The Israeli Ministry of Health updated today (Sunday) that a report was received regarding a person suspected of having the Ebola virus. The suspicion arose after the individual returned to the country from a visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a country where the virus is active.
According to the report, the individual developed a fever shortly after landing in Israel. Following the symptoms, they were transferred to a hospital for medical tests to rule out or confirm the suspicion of the dangerous disease. This is the fifth time this year that such a suspicion has arisen in Israel.
The Ministry of Health is acting in accordance with established procedures for cases of infectious diseases. Medical teams are monitoring the patient's condition and conducting the necessary tests to ensure public health and prevent the spread of the virus.
As of now, the medical system is on alert and awaiting the patient's test results. Health officials emphasize that the public will receive further updates as new information becomes available on the matter.
