Israel Aerospace Industries Workers' Committee Chair on the Ben Gurion Airport strike: "The harm to passengers is undesirable"
A public storm is brewing around the disruptions at Ben Gurion Airport. Yair Katz, Chairman of the Israel Aerospace Industries Workers' Committee, addressed the recent events at the airport and expressed his position regarding the workers' struggle.
Katz chose to defend Pinhas Idan, Chairman of the Israel Airports Authority Workers' Committee, noting that the workers' struggle is legitimate. According to him, when a strike takes place in a large system, the responsibility for the consequences is shared among all parties involved.
However, Katz criticized the way the strike is affecting the general public. He emphasized that the harm to passengers who were stranded at the airport or whose flights were canceled is an unfortunate outcome that is not desired by any of the parties.
The public debate on the matter continues, with the workers' right to fight for their conditions on one side, and the need to maintain the daily routine of passengers and the proper operation of Israel's international airport on the other.
