Court Rules: Oren Kobi Led an Extravagant Lifestyle at the Expense of His Creditors
The District Court issued a harsh decision this week regarding businessman Oren Kobi. According to the judges' ruling, Kobi led an extravagant and ostentatious lifestyle for years, all while failing to pay his debts to the creditors' fund of the companies he owned.
The verdict noted that Kobi used company funds for personal purposes as if they were his own money. Among other things, he used these funds to purchase luxury real estate in Tel Aviv and enjoy luxuries, while his creditors remained without recourse for their debts.
The legal proceedings against Kobi have been ongoing for approximately 6.5 years. During this period, it emerged that he did not meet his financial obligations and did not cooperate with the authorities responsible for debt repayment. The judges emphasized that Kobi's conduct directly harmed the public of creditors and their ability to recover their money.
This decision marks the conclusion of a significant phase in a case that has occupied the Israeli business world. Now, legal authorities are expected to continue the processes of liquidating the remaining assets, with the aim of attempting to recover some of the heavy debts accumulated over the years.
