Technological Breakthrough: IDF Officer Develops System to Fly Drones Using Thought Power
Lieutenant Colonel S., commander of a software house in the IDF Ground Forces, recently presented an impressive and inspiring technological development. The officer, who was seriously wounded during Operation Protective Edge, succeeded in developing an artificial intelligence (AI) system that allows drones to be flown without the use of a joystick or manual touch, but rather through the power of thought alone.
The innovative system developed by Lt. Col. S. as part of his master's degree studies translates electrical signals from the brain into precise flight commands in real time. The technology is based on capturing brain waves, which allow the user to control the aircraft intuitively and quickly, without the need for external control equipment.
The development was born out of a desire to combine the worlds of technology and rehabilitation, and it sets a new standard in the field of human-machine interface. The system may assist in the future not only in military fields, but also by providing advanced technological solutions to people with physical disabilities, enabling them to have new operational capabilities.
Lt. Col. S.'s achievement highlights the importance of technological innovation in the IDF and the ability to overcome personal hardships through creativity and research. The system is currently in advanced stages of development and may change the way we operate complex technological tools in the future.
