Netanyahu's defense: We cannot conduct hearings five days a week
Attorney Amit Hadad, who represents Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his trial, has appealed to the court to reduce the number of weekly hearing days. In his arguments before the judges, Hadad emphasized that the defense team cannot keep up with the pace of five hearing days per week as required.
During the hearing, Attorney Hadad compared the current workload to historical trials in Israel. He noted that the only trial in the country's history where hearings were held at such a volume of five days a week was the trial of Adolf Eichmann.
The request raises questions regarding the continued management of the trial and the busy schedule that has been set. The lawyers argue that the workload makes it difficult to prepare the defense properly and professionally, and that adjustments are necessary to ensure a fair legal process.
The court is expected to discuss the request and decide whether to change the established schedule of hearings. This decision may affect the amount of time it will take to reach a verdict in the cases pending against the Prime Minister.
