The Internet Revolution in Israel: Fiber Optic Deployment to Reach Every Home
The Israeli Ministry of Communications announced a significant step this week to improve the country's internet infrastructure. As part of the third tender for fiber optic deployment, the companies Telran, Partner, and Pazzle were selected to lead the project in remote and complex areas.
The new plan is expected to connect more than 29,000 additional households to the high-speed internet network. This is important news for residents living in remote communities who, until now, have not enjoyed access to high-speed and stable internet like those in the center of the country.
According to Ministry of Communications estimates, the nationwide deployment will be completed within just two years. The government's ultimate goal is to reach 99.9% coverage of all households in Israel, thereby narrowing the digital divide between the periphery and the center.
The use of fiber optics allows for very high-speed browsing, which is essential for working from home, remote learning, and using advanced streaming services. The move is expected to improve the quality of life for many citizens and enable them to better integrate into the modern digital economy.
