From the University of Helsinki to Italy: Sabrina Maniscalco's challenge for the future of quantum computers
Sabrina Maniscalco, a scientist of Sicilian origin, has decided to leave her prestigious academic career at the University of Helsinki to return to Italy. The researcher's goal is to lead a new startup dedicated to the development of quantum computers, a technology that promises to revolutionize the world of modern computing.
Quantum computers represent a huge technological leap compared to the computers we use every day. Thanks to their ability to process an immense amount of data in a very short time, these machines could solve complex problems that are currently impossible for traditional systems to handle.
According to Maniscalco, the impact of this technology will be visible above all in the scientific and medical sectors. The scientist explained that, in the future, we will be able to design new drugs with the same precision and planning with which we build airplanes today, drastically accelerating research against diseases.
Maniscalco's return to Italy marks an important moment for technological innovation in the country. Her startup aims to position Italy as one of the key players in the field of quantum research at a European level, attracting talent and investment in a sector considered strategic for the future of the global economy.
