Bergamo a pioneer in sustainable mobility: electric buses and hi-tech shelters are coming
The city of Bergamo is preparing for a true revolution in the field of public transport. The municipal administration has announced the introduction of a fleet of buses powered 100% by electricity, a project that aims to drastically reduce CO2 emissions and improve air quality in the urban center.
In addition to the new zero-emission vehicles, the renewal plan includes the installation of next-generation shelters. These "hi-tech" structures will be equipped with solar panels, free Wi-Fi for passengers, and digital screens that will provide real-time information on public transport schedules and routes.
The initiative makes Bergamo the first city in Italy to implement such an advanced and integrated transport system. The main goal is to make daily travel simpler, faster, and more environmentally friendly, encouraging citizens to prefer public transport over private cars.
