Apple's new anti-spam filter arrives in Italy: how to protect your iPhone
Italian iPhone users are about to receive an important software update that promises to change the way we handle unwanted calls. With the arrival of iOS 17.2, Apple is introducing a new security feature designed to automatically identify and filter suspicious calls, offering greater protection against the phenomenon of aggressive telemarketing and phone scams.
The new system works based on an intelligent filter that analyzes incoming calls in real time. When an unknown number attempts to contact the user, the software queries an updated database to verify the caller's reliability. If the number is flagged as potential spam or a scam, the system immediately alerts the user, allowing them to block the call before even answering.
This new feature represents a concrete response to the numerous reports received in Italy in recent years regarding nuisance calls. Many citizens, in fact, complain daily about the increase in unsolicited contacts from call centers or unidentified parties. Thanks to this tool integrated into the operating system, users will no longer need to download third-party applications to protect their privacy.
To activate the feature, simply update your device to the latest version of iOS available in the system settings. Once the installation is complete, the filter will be active automatically, but users will still be able to customize their preferences in the calls section, deciding which numbers to silence and which to let through.
The introduction of this filter marks a significant step forward in protecting the personal data of Italian users. With the constant evolution of phone scam techniques, technological tools of this kind are becoming essential to ensure greater peace of mind in the daily use of smartphones.
