Mikhailo Fedorov: the profile of the new digital transformation consultant for the Italian Ministry of Defence
The Italian Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto, has announced a collaboration of international significance by appointing Mikhailo Fedorov as a consultant for the digital transformation of the ministry. Fedorov, born in 1991, is a central figure in Ukrainian politics, known for having successfully led his country's technological modernization during the presidency of Volodymyr Zelensky.
The choice of Fedorov reflects the Italian government's intention to accelerate the digitalization process within Defence structures. Thanks to his experience in the Ukrainian government, where he managed complex projects related to cybersecurity and public service innovation, the young expert will bring to Italy specific skills gained in a context of crisis and rapid transformation.
The appointment has sparked significant media interest, partly due to recent rumors regarding political tensions between Fedorov himself and Ukrainian President Zelensky. Despite the internal dynamics of the Kyiv government, the role in Italy focuses exclusively on technical and strategic aspects related to the modernization of national defense systems.
The main objective of this collaboration is to make the Italian Defence apparatus more efficient and technologically advanced, following innovation models that have already demonstrated their effectiveness in international contexts. Fedorov, despite being very young, is considered one of the most brilliant minds in the field of e-government globally.
In the coming months, the Ministry of Defence will begin to implement the first strategies suggested by the Ukrainian consultant. It will be interesting to observe how Fedorov's experience integrates with Italian needs and regulations, marking an important step toward the complete digitalization of the security and defense sector.
