Mattarella's message at the Rimini Meeting: building peace through solidarity
The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, spoke at the traditional Rimini Meeting, one of the most important cultural and social events of the Italian summer. During his speech, the Head of State made a heartfelt appeal to the national and international community, inviting reflection on the value of peace in a historical moment marked by great difficulties.
The President described the current period as marked by "brutal wars," which threaten global stability and security. Faced with this complex situation, Mattarella emphasized that politics and the economy cannot act alone, but must be guided by fundamental ethical principles to prevent violence from prevailing.
According to the President, the key to overcoming divisions lies in solidarity and social friendship. These values, together with a sense of selfless love for one's neighbor, are defined as essential tools for opening new horizons in civil life. Only through collaboration between peoples is it possible to reject the hatred that fuels modern conflicts.
Mattarella's appeal is addressed to all citizens, inviting them to rediscover a sense of responsibility toward society. The Rimini Meeting, which welcomes thousands of people every year, thus becomes a necessary place of dialogue to promote a culture of encounter, capable of countering the logic of closure and confrontation.
In conclusion, the President's address reaffirms that peace is not merely the absence of war, but a daily commitment that requires courage and participation. Mattarella's words offer a profound reflection on how Italian society can actively contribute to a more just and solidary future, starting precisely from human relationships.
