Trieste welcomes the new Honorary Consulate of Lithuania
The city of Trieste celebrated an important moment of international cooperation today with the official inauguration of the new Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania. The ceremony saw the participation of numerous local authorities and diplomatic representatives, highlighting the increasingly close bond between Italy and the Baltic country.
Present at the event was Dalia Kreivienė, Ambassador of Lithuania to Italy, who expressed great satisfaction with the opening of the new office. The consulate will be tasked with strengthening diplomatic, cultural, and economic relations between the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and the Lithuanian government, facilitating dialogue between the two territories.
The choice of Trieste as a diplomatic seat is not coincidental. The city, thanks to its strategic position in the Italian North-East and its role as a logistics and port hub, represents an ideal reference point for fostering commercial exchanges and collaborations in the fields of research and technological innovation.
The opening of this office represents a concrete step toward improving assistance for Lithuanian citizens residing in the area and for promoting joint initiatives. The authorities present confirmed their intention to develop future joint projects, focusing in particular on tourism and the enhancement of the cultural heritage shared between the two nations.
