Touchtennis arrives in Italy: the sport aiming to win over enthusiasts
The world of Italian sports is preparing to welcome a new discipline that is already attracting the attention of many enthusiasts: touchtennis. It is a version of traditional tennis played on a smaller court, with shorter rackets and foam balls. This variant, created to make the game more accessible and faster, is rapidly gaining popularity across the country.
The Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP) has decided to actively promote this activity, recognizing its great growth potential. Thanks to the compact size of the court, touchtennis can be played almost anywhere, even in urban spaces where a regulation tennis court would not fit. This aspect makes it ideal for those looking for a fun and dynamic way to exercise without the long waits or technical difficulties of classic tennis.
In addition to its ease of access, touchtennis is appreciated for its inclusive nature. It is a sport suitable for people of all ages and levels of athletic preparation. Since the foam ball is slower than a traditional one, rallies become longer and more fun from the very first minutes of play, allowing even beginners to feel comfortable with the racket right away.
The future of touchtennis in Italy looks promising, with the organization of local tournaments and demonstrations in various cities. The federation's goal is to create a widespread network of sports centers ready to host this discipline, transforming it into a valid alternative for those who wish to approach the world of racket sports in a simple and immediate way.
