Energy alarm in Lombardy: Councilor Guidesi calls for urgent intervention
The Councilor for Economic Development of the Lombardy Region, Guido Guidesi, has raised a strong alarm regarding the increase in energy costs for local businesses. According to official statements, high energy prices are putting a severe strain on the competitiveness of Lombard companies, which represent a fundamental engine for the entire Italian economy.
The main concern regards the impact of utility bills on corporate balance sheets, which risk drastically reducing profit margins and curbing future investments. Guidesi emphasized that, without structural and timely intervention, many small and medium-sized enterprises could find themselves in a situation of serious financial difficulty in the coming months.
To address this emergency, the Lombardy Region is urging the national government to implement concrete measures. The proposals put forward include strengthening tax credits for energy-intensive companies and a revision of energy policies at the European level, in order to ensure more stable and sustainable prices for the productive sector.
The issue of energy costs therefore remains an absolute priority for local institutions. The situation is being monitored closely, as the risk is that a slowdown in the Lombard industrial sector could have negative repercussions on employment and the economic growth of the entire country.
