Taranto, strike at Vestas following the dismissal of three workers
A new phase of tension is affecting the industrial sector in Taranto. The Fiom and Uilm trade unions have called a strike at the Vestas plant, a leader in the wind energy sector, following the company's decision to dismiss three employees.
The unions' decision came as an immediate response to the disciplinary measures taken by the company. According to the unions, the dismissals represent a serious act that jeopardizes the well-being of the workers and the climate within the Apulian production site.
Workers' representatives have requested an urgent meeting with company management to discuss the reasons for the dismissals and to seek a solution that can protect jobs. The protest aims to raise awareness among the public and local institutions regarding the critical situation experienced by the staff.
At the moment, the Taranto plant remains the focus of union attention. Further developments are expected in the coming hours, as workers continue to express their dissent to demand the reinstatement of their colleagues and respect for existing union agreements.
