The State Police have reported a woman in the province of Rome for a scam carried out via WhatsApp. The suspect used the so-called "ballerina" technique, a deceptive method to trick victims into sharing sensitive data or providing access to their accounts. The woman is accused of fraud and unauthorized access to computer systems, after targeting several people, including some of her own relatives.
On the front of city security, an investigation has shed light on current criminal dynamics in the Magliana neighborhood, in the southern area of Rome. The area, historically known for the "Banda della Magliana" (a powerful criminal group active in the 70s and 80s), now sees the presence of new bosses and alliances with international drug traffickers. At the same time, in Ostia, the capital's coastal district, the Carabinieri arrested a 44-year-old man found in possession of 200 grams of hashish hidden in his car and ready to be sold.
In the scientific field, researchers Roberto Gramignoli and Gianvito Martino have illustrated the progress of stem cells, defined as the medicine of the future. These cells, which have the ability to transform into different types of body tissues, are already being used to develop therapies against serious diseases such as multiple sclerosis, marking the transition of regenerative medicine from theory to daily clinical practice.
