AstraZeneca invests 66 million euros in Italy for scientific research
The pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has presented a major investment plan for our country to the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT). The company has allocated 66.2 million euros with the goal of strengthening clinical research activities within Italy.
The program is very extensive and involves the launch of 71 new registrational clinical trials. Among these, 19 projects will be specifically dedicated to the study of molecules from Alexion, the company specializing in rare diseases that was acquired by the group. This is a significant step for the development of new advanced therapies.
In addition to the registrational trials, the plan also includes a series of observational studies and independent research projects. These initiatives aim to improve the understanding of various pathologies and foster scientific innovation in collaboration with Italian healthcare facilities.
This investment confirms the importance of Italy in the international pharmaceutical research landscape. Thanks to these resources, the national health system will be able to benefit from new treatment opportunities and greater collaboration with the private sector, strengthening the country's role as a center of excellence for clinical experimentation.
