Italy: consumer prices rise slightly in July
The National Institute of Statistics has released data regarding inflation in Italy for the month of July. According to the report, consumer prices recorded a month-on-month growth of 0.2%.
This figure marks a reversal of the trend compared to the month of June, during which price variation remained at 0%. The new increase therefore indicates a recovery, albeit a contained one, in the cost of living for Italian families.
Analysts had predicted a slightly higher increase, estimated at around 0.3%. The final result of 0.2% therefore proved to be lower than experts' expectations, keeping the growth trend within moderate limits.
Constant monitoring of inflation remains a central issue for the Italian economy. This data will be fundamental for understanding the trend in citizens' purchasing power and future economic policy decisions in the coming months.
