Extreme heatwave in Italy: 23 cities on maximum alert
Italy is currently facing an exceptional heatwave that is affecting a large part of the national territory. According to the latest data provided by the Ministry of Health, 23 out of 27 cities have been placed on the maximum alert level, the so-called "red code."
Scorching temperatures are making climatic conditions particularly difficult for citizens and the numerous tourists crowding Italian locations during this summer exodus period. The extreme heat does not only concern the central hours of the day, but also persists throughout the night, increasing physical discomfort for the population.
Health authorities have issued an appeal for caution, urging especially the most vulnerable people, such as the elderly and children, to avoid leaving their homes during the hottest hours, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. It is essential to maintain proper hydration, drink plenty of water, and consume light meals based on fresh fruit and vegetables.
The Ministry of Health continues to constantly monitor the situation through the official bulletin, which is updated daily to inform citizens about the risks associated with high temperatures. It is recommended to carefully follow the instructions of local authorities and to pay attention to signs of malaise caused by excessive heat.
This climate emergency situation is occurring in a context of significant movement for summer vacations. Despite the difficulties caused by the weather, the country continues to manage the flow of travelers, trying to limit inconvenience and ensure the safety of everyone during this intense heatwave.
