It is called "The Way of William" (Il Cammino di Guglielmo), a walking route approximately 320 kilometers long that crosses three regions: Campania, Basilicata, and Puglia. The path is divided into 15 stages and starts from the evocative Sanctuary of Montevergine, in the province of Avellino. From here, walkers cross Irpinia, enter the territory of Basilicata, and finally arrive in Puglia, ending the journey in the city of Barletta. The project is dedicated to Saint William of Vercelli, a monk who lived in the twelfth century and founder of the Abbey of Montevergine.
