Incoming heatwave: Italy prepares for a week of record temperatures
Italy is preparing to face a week of intense heat due to the arrival of a powerful African anticyclone. According to the latest weather forecasts, temperatures will progressively increase across the entire country, bringing extreme weather conditions that will affect much of the peninsula.
The most affected areas will be the inland regions of the Center and the major islands. In particular, peaks of 38-39 degrees are expected in Lazio and Tuscany as early as the coming days. Sardinia, on the other hand, could record the highest values, with the thermometer potentially exceeding the 40-degree threshold in several inland locations.
This increase in temperatures will not only affect daytime hours but also nighttime ones, making it difficult to rest due to the sweltering heat. Health authorities recommend following some fundamental rules: avoid sun exposure during the hottest hours, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and drink plenty of water to prevent the risk of dehydration.
Northern Italy will also see a significant thermal rise, albeit with higher humidity levels. In major cities such as Rome, Florence, and Milan, the heat will be amplified by urban structures, creating significant discomfort for residents and the many tourists visiting the country during this period.
Experts predict that this heatwave will last for most of the week, without significant interruptions. It is therefore essential to stay informed through weather bulletins and pay particular attention to the most vulnerable people, such as children and the elderly, to best manage this exceptional meteorological situation.
