Ebola: new health control measures in Italy for those arriving from Congo and Uganda
The Italian Ministry of Health has introduced new preventive measures to protect the country from the risk of Ebola virus contagion. All travelers arriving in Italy, directly or indirectly, from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda are now required to declare their origin to the health authorities.
This decision was made to monitor more closely the flow of people coming from geographical areas where the virus is currently present. The main objective is to identify any suspected cases in a timely manner and prevent the spread of the disease within the national territory.
Passengers returning from these areas must report their arrival to the Department of Prevention of the local health authority responsible for their area. This procedure allows the authorities to provide the necessary guidance and monitor the health status of travelers during the observation period required by international health protocols.
Italian health authorities urge all citizens and travelers to actively cooperate with medical staff and to scrupulously follow the instructions provided. These control measures represent a necessary precaution to ensure public safety and effectively manage the health risk associated with international travel.
